Frequently Asked Questions REARSETS All Tarozzi rearsets are made in four different versions with the difference being in the type of footpeg used as shown in the pictures below: Types 03 & 09 are fixed position while Types 13 & 19 fold and have a ball spring detent in both the up and down positions. The first two digits of any rearset part number specify the type of footpeg used. The remaining four digits specify the motorcycle the rearset kit fits. Replacement rubber footpeg covers are available for types 03 & 13. The only exceptions are the Type 16 Universal Kits which are used with motorcycles which Tarozzi does not make a specific kit for. They require you to design and build mounting brackets for your frame as well as connecting linkage for shifter and rear brakes. They are available in all four footpeg types. We carry a wide assortment of parts listed under Rearset Parts which are useful when fitting the Universal sets. All Tarozzi rearsets are made of a combination of cast aluminum, machined aluminum, and chrome plated steel parts. All aluminum parts are coated for appearance and durability. Each rearset kit sold includes an "assembly drawing". This drawing serves two purposes - it shows how the rearsets are mounted on your motorcycle and shows each part included with the kit along with its part number. Any item whose part number begins with 02 is available in this store under the category Rearset Partsand can be ordered online. Part numbers beginning with 01 are special order parts - please email us for price and availability. Part numbers beginning with 00 are not sold individually. The models and years shown for the rearset kits are based on the original Tarozzi application listings which are European models only. We have updated the listings with model numbers and years for other parts of the world that we are aware of but we know there are some we may have missed. Please feel free to let us know if you are aware of others we have missed so we can update the listings. We maintain a reference library and work hard to make sure our listings are accurate but it is difficult due to the many variations the motorcycle manufacturers sold in many countries through the years. Your help would be appreciated! Send your updates to jimhinshaw@fastfromthepast.com . FORK BRACES All Tarozzi fork braces are made of cast aluminum and are finished in a flat black coating for appearance and durability. Multi-language mounting instructions are included with each fork brace. If the forks on your motorcycle came with rubber dust boots that fit on the top of the lower fork leg like the ones in the picture below your fork brace will be designed so the rubber dust boot now fits on top of the fork brace as shown. Before installing the fork brace you must first slide the rubber dust boots up the fork tube out of the way. After you have finished installing the fork brace slide the rubber dust boots back down the fork tube until they snap onto the top of the fork brace. If your forks are the more modern style where the dust seal is built into the top of the lower fork you will not need to disturb it to mount the fork brace. Many customers have contacted us with the following question - "I know the forks on my motorcycle (which does not have a fork brace listed) are the same as the Yamasuzki that you have a fork brace listed for. Will that fork brace fit my motorcycle?" The answer is MAYBE because even though the forks may be the same the front fender and/or front wheel may not be. As you can see in the picture above the fork brace must be designed to clear the front fender. If the front fender is a different shape it may interfere with the fork brace. If your model has a 19" front wheel instead of the 18" front wheel that the listed model has then the fender will be mounted higher to accomodate the larger diameter wheel and will probably interfere with fork brace even though the forks are the same. The only way to know for sure is to mount the fork brace and see if it fits! CLIP-ONS We offer two versions of Tarozzi clip-ons - the High Rise and Low Rise versions. Unlike normal clip-ons these raise the bars up higher to provide a more relaxed riding position. The Low Rise model raises the bars 40mm(1.6") higher than usual while the High Rise version raises the bars a full 70mm(2.8") higher than usual. The handlebars provided are chrome plated steel (7/8" diameter) while the mounting parts are cast and machined aluminum. Black plastic plugs are provided for the open ends of the handlebars.
As you can see in the picture above our clip-ons can be mounted in four different configurations. This makes them much easier to adapt to your motorcycle. It allows you to work around interference with fairings, master cylinders, cables and all the other items which always seem to be in the way. In addition, it also allows you to get the perfect riding position by moving the handlebars forward or backward to suit your preference.
As you can see in this picture the mounting brackets for the fork tubes are one piece and will require the removal of your upper triple clamp for installation. Please note also that the bracket which the handlebars mount in is held in position by one large socket head cap screw. This allows you to adjust the bar angle up or down to whatever position suits your needs. SHIPPING In the USA and Canada you may choose either UPS or the US Postal Service for your shipment. Fork braces and parts are light enough to ship First Class International Mail to Canada but rearsets must ship via International Priority Mail due to weight. If the product is light enough you will be able to select First Class International Mail from the dropdown box - otherwise it will not be listed. If you are in any other country in the world you must select our Standard Shipping Service which is International Priority Mail. Your package will be delivered by the mail service in your country. Typical delivery time is 7-10 days depending on the country. Please remember that any duties or taxes charged by the country you live in are your responsibility. The customs form we provide will list the products as "Vintage Motorcycle Parts" and Commerical Goods will be marked.
